SENIOR ITIL / ITSM CONSULTANT
 

TechnoLava is looking for a skilled ITSM consultant to join our rapidly growing consulting organization. This person will join an enthusiastic team that is helping clients establish IT strategies and implement IT service management process improvement solutions. Typical responsibilities include: 

  • Developing, architecting and implementing ITSM process improvement solutions based on best practices (ITIL, ISO20K, etc.)

  • Conducting IT assessments and developing process improvement roadmaps for customers

  • Enhancing consulting methodologies and deliverables

The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of IT Service Management concepts, have practical experience designing and implementing ITIL processes, and have strong project management skills. The candidate should also enjoy being in a consulting environment and be a positive member of a collaborative team. The candidate must be located in the Washington, DC area, but must be willing to travel to consulting assignments as needed.

 

Desired Skills & Experience

 

The following is REQUIRED:

  • Must be US CITIZEN

  • Thorough understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL best practices

  • 5-7+ years of experience conducting assessments, designing processes, and implementing service improvement solutions

  • Previous consulting experience

  • ITIL Expert Certification

  • Demonstrated project leadership experience handling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated track record as a team player

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated technical leadership skills to manage and direct junior level staff

  • Ability to travel

The following is DESIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • ISO/IEC 20000 and TIPA Assessor Certifications

  • Experience developing CMDB solutions, including definition of CIs

ITSM INTEGRATION ENGINEER
 

Job Description:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Business Relationship Managers and Business representatives to design infrastructure, monitoring, and automation solutions to their current challenges.
  • Review Statements-of-Work and Proposals and carry out benefit/risk assessment.
  • Carryout systems designs based on customer requirements. Coordinate planning around hardware platform tradeoffs and selection, database sizing, network connectivity, and backup strategy.
  • Consult with clients and teammates to identify all facets of an issue and generate solutions. Understand potential impacts to processes and systems across the organization and factor these into solutions.
  • Validate requirements documents in Service Level Packages (SLPs). Ensure the creation of traceable, measurable, well documented business requirements.
  • Develop high-level and detailed design documents in Service Design Packages (SDPs).
  • Work with Data center Operations to define and deliver effective, reliable tooling and automation solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver business cases, bills of materials, and purchasing documents.
  • Deliver comprehensive build and operational documentation in Release Packages.
  • Oversee the creation of Lab environments to support various testing initiatives.
  • Carryout infrastructure and application tooling product comparisons via research and lab-based Proof-of-Concept testing.
  • Create and delivery of reports, diagrams, and presentations to support ongoing system builds and evaluations.
  • Lead build-teams to completion of multi-phased infrastructure builds covering Development, Certification, and Production environments.
  • Demonstrate excellent conceptualization, analytical and logic skills.
  • Implement Continual Service Improvement. Continually align IT Services to the changing business needs, through the identification and implementation of improvements to the IT Services, and their supporting business processes

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or 10 - 15 years equivalent, relevant work experience required
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundation certified
  • Knowledge and experience with network and/or systems management technologies
  • Knowledge and experience with implementations in physical & virtualized environments
  • Knowledge and experience with storage, storage protocol, and replication solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with relational database technologies
  • Knowledge and experience with performance optimization and tuning
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated problem management capabilities; able to assess issues and provide viable, cost effective business solutions.
  • Ability to act comfortably in a team leadership role, and to lead enterprise-scale infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
  • Ability to successfully facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels.

ITSM PROJECT MANAGER
 

Job Description


This role works collaboratively with clients to establish a business driven vision for the future of our clients’ Information Technology (IT) systems, processes and infrastructure, and a roadmap to achieve that vision. Services also include assessment and improvement of IT processes for completeness, maturity and quality of services by leveraging industry standards and our reference model.


Requirements:

  • Responsible for project management of standalone projects or elements of multiple client engagements.

  • Manage engagement teams and provide technical leadership in the assessment, design, and management of successful IT improvement programs in collaboration with clients.

  • Build trusted relationships as a strategic technology adviser with clients, and work internally across teams to help bring clients the most comprehensive, end-to-end business and IT transformation services to effectively address their business challenges and infrastructure operations issues.

  • Collaborate with other members of their engagement teams to plan engagements and develop project plans and work programs, timelines, risk assessments, and other planning documents.

  • Use knowledge of the current IT environment and industry IT trends to identify the engagement and client service issues and communicate this information to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in computer science, engineering or a related field; MBA or MS degree preferred

  • Strong delivery skills (i.e. ability to scope/size a project, staff a team with the appropriate skill set, provide subject matter direction and guidance to a team, manage the delivery of an engagement workstream)

  • Ability to guide a client towards a potential advisory project through facilitated discussions

  • Demonstrated history of partnering with other business and IT advisory practices to develop an integrated go-to-market approach

Required IT Strategy Competencies:

  • Broad knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables the business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline

  • Knowledge of key IT management processes and industry frameworks (i.e. CMMI, COBIT,ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO 2700x, PMBOK, Prince2, etc)

  • Experience working with IT leadership (CIO, IT Director) and business leadership (CFO, COO, BU President, etc) to help shape and guide the IT strategic and improvement agenda

  • Preferred ITIL V3 Expert Certification
